UNESCO-world heritage day 2021
On the occasion of UNESCO World Heritage Day, the German UNESCO Commission and World Heritage Sites Germany e.V. announce a nationwide photo competition
Under the motto “Solidarity and Dialogue,” World Heritage sites in Germany will celebrate UNESCO World Heritage Day on June 6, 2021 – digitally, on site, across Germany. A special highlight this year is once again the nationwide photo competition #WelterbeVerbindet.
Together with sites, residents and visitors, the organizers want to portray how cohesion and dialog are lived out at the 46 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Germany. The joint commitment to a landscape worth protecting, the coming together of different generations or cultures, or simply a chat in front of a protected monument – the search is on for moments of cohesion, solidarity and exchange captured in photographs at and in World Heritage sites in Germany.
Young and old, everyone is invited to take a photo, upload it to the website www.unesco-welterbetag.de, tag it with a World Heritage motif and share it via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter under the hashtag #WelterbeVerbindet. The deadline for entries is June 6, 2021. Detailed entry requirements can be found at www.unesco-welterbetag.de/fotoaktion.
Among all submitted photos, a jury will award the three most original pictures. For the winning photos, we will give away a bag each with many colorful giveaways from UNESCO World Heritage sites. The winners will be notified in writing and publicly announced on the campaign page.
